We’re so happy that you’re here!

Imagine walking your dog off leash. The birds are singing. The breeze is just right. And you are completely relaxed. Imagine not having to worry about what lies ahead. So what if there’s a jogger around the next corner, or a bicycle whips up behind you. Your dog doesn’t react to those things anymore, so you can enjoy a peaceful walk anywhere you like.

Life with your dog may not be relaxed yet, but it can be. At Beyond Dog Training, we love nothing more than freeing people from fear of what their dog MIGHT do. We like to help families worry less and enjoy their dog more.

About Us

My name is Alyssa Foulkes and this is my dog, Magic. I’ve worked with dogs in homes, in veterinary clinics, and at the University of Guelph. I’ve helped Veterinary students, Masters students, and PhD candidates understand canine behaviour and body language and improve their handling skills. I’m excited to help your dog become the dog you always wanted.

How can we help you?

In-home Training

No dog is too young or too old to begin training. Whether you’d like to prevent issues from developing, or need help with a current behavioural issue, we’ve got you covered.

Online Training

We help dogs all over the world! This is Penny. She lives in Scotland. She used to play keep-away with her frisbee. Now, Penny understands what “leave it” means and plays an awesome game of fetch.

In-car Training

Is your dog stressed out about car rides? Does their panting, pacing, whining, and barking make it difficult to hear yourself think? We can help.

Toddler Training

Whether you’re thinking about adding a new bundle of joy, or have little ones crawling (or sprinting) about already, our Toddler Training Program will set you up for success.

Born from a heart-breaking phone call we received from a client: “My dog bit my 2-year-old in the eye,” Toddler Training is CRUCIAL for anyone thinking about growing their family. Don’t wait until the bite happens - prevent it with Beyond Dog Training.

Ripple Effect program (AKA Helping Dogs Who Can Go and Help Others)

Do you have a dog who would be a wonderful therapy dog, but is fearful of medical equipment (crutches, wheelchairs, walkers); elevators; and/or various types of flooring?

We can help.

Two per cent of the proceeds from our Ripple Effect Program are donated to Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs.

Testimonials

“I WISH they covered half of what you covered in puppy school. They don’t. It’s just basic ‘sit, stay, shake.’”
